The Dead & Company concert in Bristow, Virginia, on Saturday, June 3, 2023, was a highly memorable stop on their monumental “The Final Tour.”
The show took place at Jiffy Lube Live and was noted for featuring several tour debuts and a fantastic energy, particularly in the first set.
The band delivered a generous set spanning classic Grateful Dead material and some notable covers:
The show was packed with songs played for the first time on the 2023 tour, including the final three songs of the night in the second set, which built tremendous momentum.
First set highlights, the pairing of The Beatles’ “Dear Prudence” into a high-energy “Turn On Your Love Light” led by Bob Weir as a significant peak.
Second Set Jams: The second set featured powerful segues like the transition from “Deal” into “Scarlet Begonias” and the jamming out of “Space” into the Miles Davis instrumental “Milestones” before moving into the emotional “Days Between.”
The show concluded with the sing-along classic “Ripple” for the encore, leaving the crowd on a sentimental and positive note for their final trip to Jiffy Lube Live.
